Who can become a member of Network West?

Full membership is available to Neighbourhood Houses that:

  • Undertake Neighbourhood House activities
  • are funded by the Department of Human Services for at least 15hrs per week
  • are based in the western region of metropolitan Melbourne
  • support the purpose of Network West Inc.

Affiliate Membership is available to Neighbourhood Houses that:

  • Undertake Neighbourhood House activities
  • are not funded by the Department of Human Services for at least 15hrs per week
  • are based in the western region of metropolitan Melbourne
  • support the purpose of Network West Inc.

LGA representative membership is available to the seven LGA’s in the western region.

Why become a member of Network West?

Resourcing and information: Network West shares information relevant to Neighbourhood Houses and community centres in the west through our monthly newsletter, our Facebook group and our LinkedIn page.

Advocacy: Network West works with our members to raise the profile of the sector and ensure that our members have a voice in decisions that relate to the sector.

Professional development: Network West creates opportunities for staff, volunteers and Committee members to learn new skills, share their experiences and reflect critically on their practice through a six weekly Community of Practice, professional development forums or workshops, innovation bus tours and a bi annual expo.

Fostering Collaboration: Network West supports Local Government Area network meetings, connects members with common interests and initiates projects that support partnerships and collaborations

Individual support:  Network West provides individual support to Neighbourhood houses in need in a range of ways, including support letters and personal support for staff and volunteers experiencing stress.

Representation on the Network West Committee of Governance: Full members of Network West are entitled to nominate for and vote on membership of the organisations Committee of Governance.
